Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited has announced that it has recently discovered several counterfeit websites that lure users into submitting personal information such as ID card numbers, ID card photos, and phone numbers under the guise of "Buyer Online Security Guarantee" for "real-name authentication." These websites entice users with cash rewards, leading them to recharge and withdraw funds through virtual wallets. Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited urges the public to be wary of suspicious calls, websites, or other communications, and recommends that anyone who suspects they have been scammed report to the police as soon as possible.
